SKF India has established a 1 MW rooftop solar power plant at its facility in Pune in the state of Maharashtra, taking the overall solar power generation capacity across its campuses in Bangalore and Pune to 2.1 MW. Such move of SKF is part of its solar mission to accomplish a rooftop solar capacity of 3.3 MW and bring down of carbon footprint of up to 4,000 tonnes by 2017. The commission of the rooftop power plant was assigned to ReNew Power that has made investment in setting up of its 4,100 unit panels and entered into an agreement with SKF to buy power from the plant for a period of 25 years.
