Skanska won contracts worth combined $295 million in the US. The company bagged $75 million contract from the Massachusetts Port Authority to build a nine-storey transportation centre in the Seaport District in Boston. The centre will cover an area of 60,000 sq m, featuring 1,550 parking spaces. The project has already began and is expected to be completed in early 2018. Skanska, in joint venture with Flatiron, Stacy and Witbeck also secured a $220 million contract from the California Department of Transportation to build two segments of the Interstate 5 North Coast Corridor Phase 1 Project. The scope of work specifically includes HOV upgrades to the San Elijo highway section of Interstate 5 and the rail crossing at the San Elijo Lagoon. Overall, the North Coast Corridor project in San Diego County's northern coastal area will involve multiple upgrades to the Interstate 5 highway, its bridges, adjacent railways as well as lagoons. Construction work on the project is expected to commence in early 2017, and will be completed in the end of 2020.
