SJVN has been honored with 'Excellence Award' and Sh. R.N. Misra Chairman & Managing Director, SJVN awarded Udyog Rattan by Institute of Economic Studies. The awards have been presented by HE Sh. B.P. Singh Ex Governor of Sikkim & HE Sh. B.N. Singh Ex Governor of Tamilnadu and received by Sh. R.N. Misra Chairman & Managing Director, SJVN in a function held at Delhi.

These awards recognize the Outstanding Performance of SJVN and its management in the field of Industrial development of the Country.

On this Occasion Sh. R.N. Misra Chairman & Managing Director informed that SJVN has achieved the MoU target of cumulative generation of 8520 Million Units of electricity from 1500 MW NJHPS, 412 MW RHPS and 47.6 MW Khirvire WPPin the FY 2015-16 in the Month of December 2015.Achieving annual target more than three months earlier to its target date has setup new benchmarks in the field of electricity generation.

He also informed that the construction activities of Kholongchu Hydro Electric Project in Bhutan, Buxar Thermal Power project in Bihar and Charanka Solar Power Project in Gujarat have already been started and will result in addition of around 2000 Mega Watts in the portfolio of SJVN.

On this Occasion Sh. N.L. Sharma Director (Personnel), SJVN informed that, to turn the dream of 'Swatcch Vidyalaya Abhiyaan' of the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India into reality, SJVN has constructed 2421 toilets at an estimated expenditure of around Rs. 23 crores in the states of Himachal Pradesh, Bihar, Arunachal Pradesh and Uttrakhand. .

Hydro Power is the core strength of SJVN and the Company has the distinction of implementing India's largest 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station in Himachal Pradesh. The Company's other two projects namely 412 MW Rampur HE Project in Himachal Pradesh and 47.6 MW Khirvire Wind Power Project in Maharashtra are already in operation. SJVN is implementing 12 other projects in Nepal, Bhutan, Arunachal Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttrakhand, Bihar, Gujarat and Maharashtra. SJVN which has already diversified in the field of Wind Power, Thermal Power and Power Transmission is presently generating 2000 MW of electricity.
