January 29, 2018, Moscow - Sberbank has broadened its participation in the Central Bank of Russia's Online Financial Literacy Lessons project for young people by extending coverage to every region of the country, including the Baikalsky and Severo-Zapadny Banks. The spring series of online lessons begins on January 29 (today) and will run until April 20, 2018.

The lessons are designed for schoolchildren from grades 6 to 11, and will be shown at schools. Sberbank's leading business trainers will hold webinars with the following titles: 'Your Safe Pocket Bank' (about bank cards), 'The Low-down on Loans, or Four Rules to Achieve Your Goals', and 'How to Save and Earn Using Deposits'. This year the lessons cover more topics than previously.

Online financial literacy lessons were launched in 2015 in five of the country's regions. Sberbank has been among the Central Bank's partners of the project since the outset. Over the past two years Sberbank has held 280 of these webinars, which have been watched by more than 130,000 schoolchildren. In 2017, Siberia and the Russian Far East joined the project.

In addition to these webinars, this year Sberbank plans to develop interactive financial literacy lessons for children (including teenagers), and create educational cartoons featuring well-known characters for younger children. The bank also intends to develop the online platform it launched in 2017 to provide financial education for teachers and parents, and hold a number of educational events at its regional offices.
