NatWest helps orthotics specialist buy new premises 9th January 2012

A West Yorkshire business which manufactures and supplies bespoke orthotic products is planning to grow its consultancy services following a move to larger premises.

Crispin Orthotics has moved from premises near Elland Road to a larger 10,000 sq ft property in Morley. NatWest's commercial banking team in Leeds provided the company with a £437k loan to help complete the purchase.

The Morley property, which is 20% bigger than Crispin's previous base, consists of a large traditional manor house style building with adjacent workshop facilities. Crispin plan to use the extra space in the manor house to create private consulting rooms to house the company's ten clinicians, who provide a full orthotics consultancy service to private patients.

Established 30 years ago, Crispin design, manufacture and sell a wide range of orthotic products, which support or correct the function of a limb or the torso. These include products for the back, foot & ankle, knee, neck, shoulder, wrist and arm.

All of Crispin's products are designed and made in-house by a team of skilled technicians. The company, which employs 36 staff, supplies its products to NHS Trusts and sports clubs. It also provides consultancy services to individuals via its private clinic.

Mark Thaxter, Managing Director of Crispin Orthotics, said: "We are committed to providing customers with the complete orthotic solution from one location, ranging from an initial consultation through to the manufacture and fitting of the product. Finding the right property from which to provide this service has taken some time and we are delighted to have completed the move to Morley. The new premises are the ideal as they include a traditional building suitable for private consultations and a modern workshop that can house our manufacturing operations."

Chris Morley, NatWest Relationship Manager, said: "The move to new promises gives Crispin Orthotics the opportunity to grow the private consultancy side of its business. This is a sound business move and will further enhance the company's reputation in the orthotics field."
