Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, Inc. announced earnings results for the third quarter ended November 30, 2020. For the third quarter, the company announced total revenue was USD 7.229 million compared to USD 7.914 million a year ago. Operating income was USD 399,000 compared to operating loss of USD 98,000 a year ago. Net income was USD 524,000 compared to net loss of USD 72,000 a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 0.09 compared to basic loss per share from continuing operations of USD 0.01 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 0.08 compared to diluted loss per share from continuing operations of USD 0.01 a year ago. For the nine months, total revenue was USD 15.259 million compared to USD 23.725 million a year ago. Operating loss was USD 4.311 million compared to operating Income of USD 2.093 million a year ago. The Company produces chocolate candies and other confectionery products (Durango Products). It also sells its candy in select locations outside its system of retail stores. It operates through three segments: Franchising, Manufacturing and Retail Stores. It produces over 400 chocolate candies and other confectionery products, including many varieties of clusters, caramels, creams, toffees, mints and truffles. Its individual stores also offer numerous varieties of gourmet caramel apples as well as other products prepared in the store from Company recipes. It sells its products in a select number of specialty markets, including wholesale, fundraising, corporate sales, e-commerce, and private label. It has two Company-owned and has approximately 115 licensee-owned and 152 Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory franchised stores spread across 36 states and the Philippines.
