Rane Engine Valve Limited reported unaudited earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended December 31, 2012. For the quarter, the company reported net sales income from operations of INR 588.291 million compared to INR 718.541 million a year ago. Loss from operations before other income, finance cost& exceptional items was INR 27.982 million compared to profit from operations before other income, finance cost& exceptional items of INR 36.629 million a year ago. Loss from ordinary activities before tax was INR 57.813 million compared to profit from ordinary activities before tax of INR 149.401 million a year ago. Net loss for the period was INR 39.056 million or INR 7.58 per basic and diluted share compared to net profit for the period of INR 118.220 million or INR 22.95 per basic and diluted share a year ago.
For the nine months period, the company reported net sales income from operations of INR 1,907.385 million compared to INR 2,261.766 million a year ago. Loss from operations before other income, finance cost& exceptional items was INR 70.240 million compared to profit from operations before other income, finance cost& exceptional items of INR 173.602 million a year ago. Loss from ordinary activities before tax was INR 136.887 million compared to profit from ordinary activities before tax of INR 256.201 million a year ago. Net loss for the period was INR 93.000 million or INR 18.05 per basic and diluted share compared to net profit for the period of INR 190.130 million or INR 36.91 per basic and diluted share a year ago.
Rane Engine Valve Limited is an India-based company that is engaged in the manufacture and supply of auto components for transportation industry. The Company is involved in the manufacture of engine valves, guides and tappets for passenger cars, commercial vehicles, farm tractors, stationery engines, railway/marine engines, and two/three wheelers. It manufactures components for internal combustion engine industry applicable for stationery and transportation engine applications. Its product categories include engine valves, valve guides, and mechanical tappets. The Companyâs applications include marine applications, diesel engines, tractors, locomotives, battle tanks and automobile industry. The Company has five plants manufacturing engine valves, valve guides, and tappets are located in Chennai (one), Hyderabad (two), Trichy (one) and Erstwhile Kar mobiles in Tumkur (one). It serves various markets, such as railway, defense, and original equipment manufacturer (OEM).
