Attendees Will Experience the New ProRAE Guardian Wireless Safety System In a Browser-Based "Connected Threat Environment"

SAN JOSE, Calif. - Sept. 27, 2013 - Safety officers at industrial organizations have been looking for solutions to enhance plant-wide, worker and public safety in hazardous situations, enable faster response times and leverage real-time data to make critical decisions that help save lives and assets. To address this challenge, RAE Systems will demonstrate its latest toxic gas and radiation detection innovations, including data delivered to iPad tablets and smartphones, at the 2013 National Safety Council (NSC) Conference and Expo, in Chicago, Sept. 30 to Oct. 2, at Booth 1011.

At the NSC Show, the world's largest annual event for safety, health and environmental professionals, RAE Systems will showcase a wireless ProRAE Guardian-based "connected threat detection" environment. The real-time data will be reported from the company's Portable ToxiRAE Pro single-gas monitors, MultiRAE multi-threat detectors, GammaRAE II R radiation detectors, AreaRAE transportable multi-gas and radiation instruments, and BioHarness biometric devices and third-party instruments.

Increased Demand for Wireless Industrial Gas and Radiation Detection Solutions
Changing industry regulations and major safety disasters are creating demand for innovation in wireless gas and radiation detection solutions among global industrial organizations. Today's safety officers are looking for real-time solutions that enhance plant-wide safety, increase compliance and reduce downtime.

RAE Systems will demonstrate its radiation and toxic gas detection innovations via its open, scalable ProRAE Guardian wireless safety monitoring system. ProRAE Guardian improves safety and security for incident commanders and safety managers through real-time remote monitoring of wireless gas-detection networks from anywhere in the world and from multiple sources, including existing sensors. ProRAE Guardian aggregates, logs and displays sensor information, biometric data and GPS information from wireless gas and radiation detection instruments into a comprehensive real-time display.

"Toxic gas and radiation exposure are serious health and safety issues that can quickly escalate into a full-blown crisis. Safety officers need to know as soon as an incident occurs to help protect lives and assets," stated Thomas Negre, vice president of products and marketing for RAE Systems. "With the MeshGuard System's expanded radiation monitoring and mobile capabilities, safety officers now have instantaneous access to real-time situational threat data at their fingertips for faster, more informed process control and safety decisions."

The company will also demonstrate for the first time its recently announced MeshGuard Gamma wireless radiation sensor and DoseRAE Pro dosimeter. These two new radiation detection solutions combine to deliver the industry's most advanced system for personal and wide area radiation detection monitoring, and provide safety officers with a rapidly deployable, cost-effective solution for enhancing safety.

  • The MeshGuard Gamma wireless radiation sensor is a key building block of the MeshGuard intelligent network of connected sensors. MeshGuard Gamma delivers industry-first, real-time continuous monitoring of gamma radiation threats in a cost-effective, rapidly deployable solution.
  • The DoseRAE Pro is a rugged, compact, direct reading Electronic Personal Dosimeter (EPD) that provides industry leading electronic radiation dosimetry for unmatched personal radiation detection. The DoseRAE Pro accurately measures both dose rate and accumulated personal dose and stores dose datalogs of up to 3,000 points.
