Exhausted fire fighters receive much-need food and water as they battle the flames in Tulbagh.

An estimated 155 fire fighters are working around the clock to extinguish the fire that's been wreaking havoc in the Tulbagh area. To keep the fire fighters in top form, Pick n Pay has stepped in to lend a hand.

According to Roysten Harris from the Cape Winelands Municipality, the fire is stable at the moment. However, this could change at any point.

Pick n Pay's General Manager of Group Marketing, Malcolm Mycroft, chatted to 94.5Kfm's Aden Thomas about how PnP will bring much-needed food and water to the fire fighters and volunteers. The nearest Pick n Pay store will deliver food, water and refreshments to the central depot at Kuierbossie Restaurant in Tulbagh.

Mycroft stated that Pick n Pay is more than happy to "give something back and help the community help themselves".
