Oriental Enterprise Holdings Limited provided consolidated earnings guidance for the year ended 31 March 2024. The company is expected the group to record a consolidated profit attributable to owners of the company of approximately HKD 65,000,000 to HKD 80,000,000, while the audited consolidated profit attributable to owners of the company was approximately HKD 166,564,000 in the same period of 2023. The decrease in profit was mainly attributable to (i) the local economic activities lack momentum in recovering from the downturn which directly led to the decrease of the group's revenue from the media business; (ii) the government no longer provides support subsidies during the Reporting Period, while the Group received the government support subsidies of approximately HKD 22,277,000 in the same period of 2023; (iii) gain on disposal of properties in Australia and the reversal of provision for expected credit losses of license fee receivable from the settlement of the dispute with the hotel operator on license fee receivable in Australia total net amounting to approximately HKD 19,472,000 in the same period of 2023; and (iv) the decrease in valuation of investment properties and impairment of leasehold buildings held by the Group at the end of the Reporting Period with net amount of approximately HKD 9,743,000.
