MultiQ supplies digital information displays for Greater Copenhagen's new light rail project

Apr 7, 2022| News

Denmark's largest light rail project is called Hovedstadens Letbane (Greater Copenhagen Light Rail) and is a 28-kilometre rapid transit system. The trains and railway infrastructure are supplied by Siemens and Aarsleff Rail A/S. Siemens has now chosen MultiQ as the supplier of more than 180 digital information displays that will be installed at 29 stations along the route. Delivery is scheduled for the end of 2022 and the order value is around DKK 6 million.

The new light rail service will make travel easier for many people and the line is expected to attract 13-14 million passengers a year. The route runs from Lundtofte in the north to Ishøj in the south and passes through eight municipalities. A connected public transport network will be created around Copenhagen, making it easy for travellers to change trains. There will be a strong focus on information at the stations. Passengers will have real-time information on departures and arrivals, plus updates on traffic disruption.

"We are incredibly proud and grateful that Siemens has chosen us as the supplier. MultiQ has a wide range of services and displays for both vehicles and outdoor locations. We already work closely with Nordjyllands Trafikselskab, Sydtrafik, Fynbus and Metro-Cityringen on outdoor signage. Our partnership with Siemens now reinforces our position in public transport in Denmark," says Mads Henrik Hansen, CEO of MultiQ Danmark.
