NEW YORK, Jan. 25, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Medidata Solutions, Inc. (NASD:MDSO) will replace RightNow Technologies, Inc. (NASD:RNOW) in the S&P SmallCap 600 index after the close of trading on Friday, January 27. S&P 100 & 500 constituent Oracle Corp. (NASD:ORCL) is acquiring RightNow Technologies in a deal that is expected to be completed today.

Medidata Solutions, Inc. provides software-as-a-service based clinical development solutions for life science organizations. Headquartered in New York, NY, the company will be added to the S&P SmallCap 600 GICS (Global Industry Classification Standard) Health Care Technology Sub-Industry index.
