Board Changes
May Gurney Integrated Services plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Donald William "Willie" MacDiarmid as a non-executive director of the Company with immediate effect.
Willie, aged 51, has had a long and distinguished business career to date, most recently as an advisor to utilities organisations in Europe and Africa. From 2009 to 2011 he was Chief Operating Officer at the energy services company Eaga Plc. From 1990, he held senior positions at FTSE100 company, Scottish Power - latterly as Director of Energy Retail - where he successfully led the division through the deregulation of the energy market and its subsequent integration post the Iberdrola merger. During his tenure in this role, he oversaw a 50% increase in customers, and increased customer satisfaction statistics into the upper decile, winning two JD Power Customer Service Awards. In addition to strong credentials in the utilities sector, Willie has gained UK Government relations experience, spearheading the Warm Front programme at Eaga as well as the BBC Digital rollout. From 2007 to 2009 Willie was Chairman of the Energy Retail Association.
Margaret Ford, non-executive Chairman of May Gurney said: "Willie's extensive experience of the UK regulated sector market and Government relations mean that he is ideally placed to make a valuable contribution to the Board. Moreover, his significant achievements in customer service and change management at a FTSE100 company are of particular relevance as our Company continues to grow. We are very much looking forward to working with him".
Tim Ross, senior non-executive director of the Company, who joined the Board in 2002, has announced his intention to retire from the Board at the Company's AGM in July. He was non-executive Chairman of May Gurney from January 2005 to July 2008, and as chairman oversaw the flotation of the business on AIM in June 2006. It is proposed that Ishbel Macpherson will succeed Tim as senior independent non-executive director on his retirement from the Board.

He has seen the Company through important stages in its corporate development - including advising on the MBO in 2000 and its successful IPO in 2006. The Board would like to thank Tim for his valuable and incisive contribution and to wish him all the best for the future."
