In partnership with Manutan, the television channel BSMART addresses the topic of remote management, through its programme 'SMART@WORK'. On this occasion, Xavier Laurent, Director of Mergers and Acquisitions for the Group discusses 'tomorrow's management' with the guests.

On the set, alongside Aurélie Planeix, journalist and programme presenter, and Xavier Laurent, are:

· Éric Albert, Psychiatrist and Managing Partner of Uside, a consultancy specialising in the quality of life at work, collective efficiency and talent management.

· Jean-Charles Samuelian-Werve, Co-founder and CEO of Alan, a 100% online health insurance company and author of Healthy Business, a book about company culture, well-being and excellence at work.

In this health crisis, with more and more people working from home, the guests ask what the keys to good management are, to help employees find fulfilment and to improve companies' performance. Éric Albert is blunt: 'Those who do best are those who recreate collective working in a different way and do not switch fully to working from home.' Based on this, it seems essential for everyone to maintain their relationships and the notion of trust created previously with the other members of the company. Jean-Charles Samuelian-Werve emphasises the importance of trust which 'works if we tolerate and even if we reward risk-taking and failure. It's not because a project has failed that [the employee] has failed.'

Finally,Xavier Laurent envisages the winning formula, for the employee, as: 'when you [find] meaning, are able to take risks, know what you are useful for, are independent and able to [work] even with the difficulty of not seeing your colleagues every day.' This implies that the manager's role has a strong psychological dimension. Eric Albert, author of 'Le manager est un psy' (Managers are shrinks), fully agrees.
