MacLaughlin will provide forecasts for the evening newscasts on WTNH News 8 and WCTX MyTV9. MacLaughlin jumped right into his new position and made his first appearance on News 8 on Thursday the 27th, in the aftermath of yet another winter storm.

MacLaughlin is an Emmy award winning meteorologist, who has most recently been working at WPIX in New York City. He has also worked at television stations in Dallas, and Philadelphia, as well as at the Weather Channel. MacLaughlin has experience with Connecticut's tricky forecasts; he spent time working at News 12 Connecticut, early in his career. He received his degree in Meteorology from Rutgers University.
