The enterprises 'LNK Industries' JSC and 'LATVIJAS TILTI' JSC of the LNK Group holding company's LNK Industries group of enterprises receive awards in contests 'Latvian Construction Industry's Annual Award 2015' and 'Civil Engineer of the Year in Latvia 2015'.

The 'Academic Centre of Natural Sciences of the University of Latvia', general contractor - 'LNK INDUSTRIES GROUP' general partnership, was declared the best project of the year 2015 in the category 'New Construction - Public Building''. This is the first building of the emerging student campus of the University of Latvia in Tornakalns. The new Centre of Natural Sciences has an unusual, architecturally distinctive façade that is unique to Riga. The construction of the building was started in March of 2014 and completed in record time in August of 2015.

In turn, the 'Panemune - Sovetsk Bypass with Construction of a Bridge across Neman River in Lithuania' won the 2 place in the category 'New Engineering Structure'. The construction works were executed by the 'LATVIJAS TILTI' Joint Stock Company of the LNK Group holding company's LNK Industries group of enterprises together with the Lithuanian partner - the 'Kauno keliai' company. This is an interstate joint project of Lithuania and the Russian Federation, in the framework of which construction of a new road and a bridge over the Neman River on the state border of Lithuania and the Kaliningrad region of the Russian Federation was implemented. The project was completed in five stages during the period from April of 2014 to October of 2015.

The 1 place in the main category 'Project Manager of the Year in Latvia 2015' of the contest 'Civil Engineer of the Year in Latvia 2015' was awarded to the project manager of 'LNK Industries' JSC Roberts Trautmanis (the project manager of the 'Academic Centre of Natural Sciences of the University of Latvia'). R. Trautmanis has been working in the construction industry for over 20 years with more than 15 objects being put into commission under his supervision in Latvia and abroad, including both civil and industrial objects. This is not the first award won by R. Trautmanis. He also won the 1 prize in the category 'Project Manager of the Year in Latvia 2012' of the contest 'Civil Engineer of the Year in Latvia 2012' for management of construction works of the 'Riga Bulk Terminal'.

Ninety-five applications for buildings, engineering structures and public outdoor space projects implemented during 2015 across Latvia were qualified for the contest 'Latvian Construction Industry's Annual Award 2015'. The amount of applications for the contest 'Latvian Construction Industry's Annual Award 2015' in the context of other building- and structure-oriented contests is the biggest in recent years.

The mission of the contests is to promote the good building practice that is combined with aesthetic and harmonious architecture. The results of the contest are an accurate message to the public that demonstrates which objects comply with the motto of the contest - safe, innovative and qualitative construction.

The winners of the contest 'Latvian Construction Industry's Annual Award 2015' and the best civil engineers of 2015 - the winners of the contest 'Civil Engineer of the Year in Latvia 2015' were announced on the 10 of March during the solemn ceremony in the 'Ziemelblazma' palace of culture in presence of representatives of state institutions, municipalities, construction industry, foreign chambers of commerce and embassies.
