Calabasas, CA, January 4, 2012 (NASDAQ: XXIA), the leading global provider of converged IP and wireless network test solutions, and Magyar Telekom, Hungary's largest telecommunication and infocommunication (ICT) service provider and a division of Magyar Telekom, today announced the selection of Ixia's IxNetwork, IxLoad, Test Conductor, and 10 Gigabit Ethernet (GE) high-density test equipment to ensure the quality of Magyar Telekom's fixed-line, mobile, and IP services. The solution helps Magyar Telekom get new services to market faster with improved test coverage, and reduces the amount of hardware and rack space necessary for testing.
Magyar Telekom's large lab facility uses IxNetwork to test network infrastructure, capacity, scalability, and convergence using scaled protocol emulation. IxNetwork verifies core network stability and infrastructure upgrades across Magyar Telekom's network, which includes hundreds of routers, millions of users, thousands of links 1GE, and hundreds of 10GE links. Magyar Telekom uses the IxNetwork routing and switching test solution to emulate protocols at the network edge and provide traffic flows with quality of service (QoS) markings. Ixia's IxLoad emulates data, voice, and video subscribers and associated protocols at scale to ensure quality of experience (QoE). Magyar Telekom uses the IxLoad real-world traffic emulation software primarily for testing network address translation (NAT) functionality.
In addition, IxNetwork's test automation software helps to save test setup time, enables test engineers to focus on non-repetitive activities, and improves test coverage. Ixia's Test Conductor and Test Composer automate testing and offer an easy way to document and share knowledge between teams. The ability to run multiple tests concurrently accelerates time to market.
Ixia's efficient, high-density test equipment reduces the amount of hardware Magyar Telekom needs, reducing CapEx. Ixia's hot-swappable load modules are hosted in an XM12 chassis and provide the industry's highest-performing, high-density application traffic generation solution. They offer complete layer 2-7 packet generation, and routing, switching, and application testing functionality in a single chassis. Although any of the twelve GE ports can be used individually, Magyar Telekom aggregates them through the single 10GE port. Each test port supports wire-speed layer 2-3 traffic generation and analysis, high-performance routing/bridging protocol emulation, and true layer 4-7 application subscriber emulation and traffic generation.
Key Facts:
- IxNetwork is designed to test network infrastructure, capacity, scalability, and convergence using its scaled protocol emulation, and works with Ixia's test platform to exchange control and data plane traffic with the device under test.
- IxLoad is a scalable solution for testing converged multiplay services, application delivery platforms, and security devices and systems that emulates data, voice, and video subscribers and associated protocols to ensure quality of experience.
- The Xcellon-Ultra NP 10GbE load module is the highest-performing, high-density application traffic generation solution.
Supporting Quotes:
