INFRA - Infratek awarded railway contract with the Swedish Transport Administration

Infratek, with the business area Local Infrastructure, has been awarded a contract with the Swedish Transport Administration regarding operations and maintenance of railway lines in the area north of Stockholm.
The contract concerns operations and maintenance on the Mälar railway between Sundbyberg and Bålsta, and the East Coast railway between Ulriksdal and Storvreta north of Uppsala.
The contract period is five years with additional options for 1 + 1 years. Start-up of the contract is 1 October 2012.
The value of the contract is SEK 383 million over five years. Including the options the potential value is SEK 531 million.
The contract is of significant importance for Infratek, and a break-through within the railway segment. Infratek finds that the chosen industrial solutions in the Swedish market provide good growth opportunities for the company as a total supplier within critical infrastructure.
According to regulations the other tenders have the right to lodge complaints for 10 days.
The contract cannot be signed prior to the expiration of this period and prior to the evaluation of any complaints.
The Swedish Transport Administration is responsible for building, operating and maintaining all national roads and railways in Sweden. They are also responsible for the long-term planning within all modes of traffic: traffic on roads and railways, on the sea and in flight.
