HCL Technologies Ltd.'s third-quarter net profit rose 19% from a year earlier.

Net profit for the quarter ended Dec. 31 rose to 40.96 billion Indian rupees ($504.8 million) from INR34.42 billion, the Indian information-technology services provider said late Thursday. That beat the estimate of INR38.29 billion from a FactSet poll of analysts.

Third-quarter revenue rose 20% to INR267.00 billion.

HCL projected revenue to increase between 13.5% and 14.0% in constant-currency terms for the fiscal year ending March, compared with its previous projection of a rise between 13.5% and 14.5%.

The company said the total contract value of new deals rose 10% from a year earlier to $2.35 billion for its third quarter.

HCL's board declared an interim dividend of INR10 per share.
