GHCL Limited announces unaudited standalone earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended December 31, 2018. For the quarter, the company reported revenue from operations of INR 8,699.3 million against INR 7,178.5 million a year ago. Total income was INR 8,745.6 million against INR 7,381.3 million a year ago. Net profit after tax was INR 1,024.8 million against INR 711.7 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share (not annualized) was INR 10.47 against INR 7.29 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share (not annualized) was INR 10.38 against INR 7.23 a year ago.
For the nine months, the company reported revenue from operations of INR 24,599.1 million against INR 22,334.1 million a year ago. Total income was INR 24,701.4 million against INR 22,596.4 million a year ago. Net profit after tax was INR 2,424.8 million against INR 2,823.6 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share (not annualized) was INR 24.78 against INR 28.89 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share (not annualized) was INR 24.56 against INR 28.67 a year ago.
GHCL Limited is an India-based chemical company. The Company is engaged in the manufacturing of anhydrous sodium carbonate (soda ash) that is a raw material for detergents and glass industries and sodium bicarbonate (baking soda). Its divisions include chemicals division, consumer products division and trading division. In chemicals division, the Company offers soda ash in two categories: light soda ash and dense soda ash. It also produces sodium bicarbonate, and these products are marketed in India under the brand name LION. The consumer product division markets edible salt and crystal salt under the brand name i-Flo & Sapan. The trading division offers a variety of chemicals to industrial and consumer markets from global chemical producers. The Company, through its subsidiary, GHCL Textiles Limited, produces 100% cotton and synthetic yarns. It has a capacity of approximately 225000 ring spindles, 3320 rotors, 480 vortex positions and 5760 two-for-one (TFO) spindles.
