Evergy began construction on its new Salina Service Center. The new center at 3330 Progress Drive (south of 3025 Cortland Circle) will allow the company to efficiently store and secure materials at one site.

Having all the materials, vehicles and employees at the same location will improve communication, coordination and outage response times for the community.

'This new, modern facility has everything needed for outage response in one place, and we will be able to provide better customer service to Salina and surrounding communities,' said Ryan Mulvany, Evergy Vice President, Distribution. 'We're thankful to the city of Salina and Saline County for their assistance in making this project a reality.'

The new facility is anticipated to encompass a building footprint of 57,000 sq. ft. with an associated service and material storage yard and vehicle parking for company and employee vehicles. The additional space will allow for improved organization and safer travel, loading and unloading of material. The new center will also include electric vehicle charging, a solar array, and the infrastructure to use rainwater harvesting in the future.

Completion of the project and local employees moving into the building is scheduled for spring 2025.
