Eu Yan Sang Bo Ying Compound is safe for consumption

With reference to the untrue and misleading article posted by BEETIFY.COM, headlined "余仁生「保婴丹」竟是「毒婴丹」？卫生部说要「这样」做！", Eu Yan Sang Group would like to reiterate the following:

1. To date, the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene has yet to clarify the origin of the Eu Yan Sang Bo Ying Compound flagged by the US Food & Drugs Authority (FDA). This had led to questions if this product had come from an authorised, legitimate batch manufactured by Eu Yan Sang.

2. The Hong Kong Department of Health (HKDOH) has randomly collected samples of Eu Yan Sang Hong Kong's Bo Ying Compound for lab test and analysis. The results showed that the lead content contained in the Bo Ying Compound manufactured by Eu Yan Sang Hong Kong is lower than the total daily level (179 ug/day) stipulated by HKDOH, and is within the limit for food additives (2 ppm) stipulated by the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. In a response to Oriental Daily published on 2 October 2015, HKDOH confirmed that Eu Yan Sang Hong Kong's Bo Ying Compound is in full compliance with Hong Kong's product safety and regulatory standards.

3. The food safety standards are different for every market. The accepted limits of lead levels in products in the US are much lower than those for products in Hong Kong. Regardless, the Bo Ying Compound sold by Eu Yan Sang in Singapore, Malaysia, China, Hong Kong and Macau is in full compliance with the safety standards stipulated in each of its markets.

We would like to reassure consumers that Eu Yan Sang Bo Ying Compound manufactured in Hong Kong is in full compliance with Hong Kong's product safety and regulatory standards and are safe for consumption. The legitimate product is available in Singapore, Malaysia, China, Hong Kong and Macau at Eu Yan Sang retail and franchise outlets.
