ASX Announcement
11 January 2016
- New high grade intercept of 10.9m at 8.3% zinc, 1.7% lead and 29g/t silver in GDD035, including 2.3m at 23.1% zinc, 4.5% lead and 92g/t silver in end-of-hole sample, expands high grade core of the Colonna Zorzone deposit.
- Assays awaited for five more intersections (GDD037, GDD041, GDD042, GDD043 and GDD045) within the high grade core of the Colonna Zorzone deposit including the deepest holes drilled to date (see GDD043 below and GDD045).
- Metallurgical testwork commenced.

Energia Minerals Ltd (ASX: EMX or "Energia") is pleased to report further significant results from the ongoing resource definition diamond drilling program at its 100%-owned Gorno Zinc Project in northern Italy, with the latest results further expanding the known envelope of zinc mineralisation within the main Colonna Zorzone deposit.
The results continue to provide strong support for the previously announced Exploration Target for Colonna Zorzone, putting the Company firmly on track to achieve its objective of completing a maiden Indicated and Inferred Resource estimate for the Gorno Project in early 2016.
Additional assay results have been received from four holes (see Figure 4 for location and Table 1), of which two (GDD032 and GDD035) are from the main Zorzone zinc deposit. As outlined in the Company's previous announcement of 17 December, 2015, GDD032 was expected to contain low grade mineralisation, while GDD035 was sited in an area of possible high grade mineralisation which has now been confirmed with an impressive intersection of 10.9m grading 10.0% Zn+Pb and 29g/t Ag including an end of hole assay of 2.3m grading 27.6% Zn+Pb and 92g/t Ag (see figure 1).
GDD033 and GDD034 were exploration holes to the east of the Zorzone zinc deposit with GDD034 returning an encouraging intercept of 4.4m grading 4.4% Zn+Pb and 44g/t Ag (see figure 2).
Assays are awaited for eleven additional holes (GDD036-GDD046). Seven of these - GDD037, GDD039, GDD041, GDD042, GDD043, GDD044 and GDD045 - are from within or
peripheral to the main Zorzone deposit with five (GDD037, GDD041, GDD042, GDD043 and GDD045) containing visually significant mineralised intercepts.
Four samples have been submitted to Grinding Solutions Ltd of the United Kingdom for preliminary metallurgical testwork. The samples have been taken from separate ore types with the first being dominantly primary high grade material from GDD025, the second being high grade mixed primary and oxidised material from GDD035, the third being from GDD009 being high grade massive primary material to the east of the north trending regional fault and the fourth being lower grade primary disseminated material from GDD034 from the Eastern Zone. Results are anticipated in early March and are expected to confirm historical production results which will be incorporated in the Scoping Study currently being carried out by Jorvik Resources Pty Ltd.
Energia's Managing Director, Mr Kim Robinson, said drilling had continued with minimal interruption over the Christmas/New Year period with the team remaining focussed on achieving its key initial objective of establishing a maiden Indicated and Inferred Resource estimate in early 2016.
"The program is progressing very well and the year is off to a flying start with the new high grade intercept in GDD035 further expanding the high grade core of the Zorzone deposit," he said.
"The Zorzone deposit has now been drilled over a vertical extent of some 180 metres or 600 metres down plunge. Continuity within the upper part of the host metalifero is impressive and it is becoming increasingly evident that silver, for which there are no historical records, is likely to be an important by-product at Gorno.
"Drilling is continuing with three diamond drill rigs and shareholders can look forward to a period of active news flow on several fronts," Mr Robinson said. "Metallurgical testwork is already underway as part of our Scoping Study and work will commence shortly on our maiden resource estimate."
