As part of the company's continuous effort to build a 21st century sales force that is optimized to sell integrated bundles of digital and print marketing solutions, Dex One Corporation (NYSE: DEXO) announced today it will deploy Salesforce CRM (customer relationship management). This latest move is yet another example of Dex One's commitment to leverage new technologies that simplify the selling process and help local businesses maximize their marketing efforts.

Dex One expects this effort to unify its sales, marketing and customer service platforms, enhancing the service it provides to current Dex One customers and bolstering new business.

"Improving the sales experience from initial contact to final delivery is of utmost importance as we strive for more efficiency," said Atish Banerjea, Dex One's senior vice president and chief technology officer. "We focus on providing our customers with marketing solutions that best meet their needs. Salesforce.com's best-of-breed CRM technologies will allow us to dedicate more time to customers' needs."

The Salesforce Sales Cloud and Service Cloud provide a comprehensive set of services designed to improve sales productivity, support team-based selling and deliver outstanding post-sales support. These services include forecasting, contact management, customer profile, and outcome reporting.

This deployment is another key milestone for Dex One and is part of the company's overarching effort to build a 21st century sales force. Over the last 10 months the company has launched a series of initiatives to improve sales productivity and support the delivery of integrated digital and print solutions to local businesses. Significant achievements include:

  • Arming more than 1,000 sales professionals with iPads for customer presentations and sales support services. Every sales professional has completed iPad certification training and the company expects to roll-out additional iPad applications later this year to simplify the selling process.
  • Creating the Dex One Sales Academy which offers dynamic and relevant training for recently hired sales professionals and fosters an environment of continuous learning for current sales professionals. The company expects the Sales Academy to ultimately drive greater efficiency by fundamentally changing how training occurs - leveraging a blended model of traditional classroom and online (computer- and iPad-based) delivery. This streamlined access to training allows sales professionals to review and select the training most appropriate to their needs and job responsibilities. To date, more than 250 sales professionals have received training at the Academy.
  • Telephoned-based sales professionals are now employing Cisco Systems "WebEx" web-conferencing and collaboration tool to support discussion with local businesses.
  • All sales employees have participated in several new product launches via a new Learning Management System. The most recent new product launches include Mobile Websites, QR codes, and Reputation Management. Every marketing consultant has completed iPad certification and several thousand e-learning product training modules and assessments have been completed.
