China Machinery Engineering : Vice President Ai Wei Attends ASEAN-SSTEC Commercial Center Promotion Meeting and Signs Multi-party Cooperation Agreement

On January 14, Vice President Ai Wei attended the promotion meeting of ASEAN-SSTEC Commercial Center hosted by ASEAN-China Center and Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-city Administrative Committee, held talks with ASEAN-China Center Secretary General Yang Xiuping and signed a multi-party cooperation agreement with Tianjin Yishang Group and Tianjin Innovative Investment Company.

As an inter-governmental organization, ASEAN-China Center aims to promote the cooperation between China and ASEAN in the fields of trade, investment, travel, education and culture. The signing of the 2015 China-ASEAN Free Trade Zone Upgrade Version Agreement established a closer multi-level tie between China and ASEAN for cooperation and exchange in the fields of commerce, trade, culture and travel. As a comprehensive demonstration & experience platform for diversified type of business, the ASEAN-SSTEC Commercial Center adopts the mode of 'Life Experience Center' with foreign cultures, introduces side-line products including agricultural products, fast-moving consumer goods and handiwork, fully reflects the characteristics of the basic necessities of life of Southeast Asian Countries and creates an exotic environment for consumers.

CMEC, Tianjin Yishang Group and Tianjin Innovative Investment Company (contractor of ASEAN-SSTEC Commercial Center) signed a multi-party cooperation agreement, so as to give full play to the advantages of the import & export supply chain of CMEC as well as the shopping mall and the logistics base of Tianjin Yishang Group that cover nearly one million square meters. The three parties decided to jointly build a platform for importing goods from ASEAN countries and build it into a distribution center in north China for ASEAN commodities, which is based in Tianjin and geared to the needs of North China, Northeast China and Northwest China.
