Carson Cumberbatch & Company Ltd. announced that Mr. Vijaya Prasanna Malalasekera has been appointed as an alternate director to Mr. Faiz Mohideen with effect August 29, 2012. Mr. Vijaya Prasanna Malalasekera is a Non Executive, Independent Director of Carson Cumber batch PLC, He served as Director for Corporate and Legal Affairs at Ceylon Tobacco Company PLC and served as a Non-Executive Director in the same company. Chairman of Bogala Graphite Lanka PLC, Axis Financial Services (Pvt) Limited, Fairway Sky Homes (Pvt) Limited and Boston Capital (Pvt) Limited.

He is currently a member of the University Grants Commission.
