Company to Assist with Solutions and Services to Support U.S. Army's Biometrics Task Force Worldwide

ARLINGTON, Va., Jan. 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- CACI International Inc (NYSE: CAI) announced today that it has been awarded a prime contract to support the U.S. Army's Biometrics Task Force. CACI received one of twelve prime awards under the Biometrics Operations and Support Services - Unrestricted (BOSS-U) contract vehicle. The BOSS-U program has a total estimated ceiling value of $500 million. The multiple-award, five-year indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity task order contract was awarded to CACI for a three-year base and two one-year option periods. The new work expands CACI's development of its Integrated Security and Intelligence Solutions (ISIS) functional core competency.

The Biometrics Task Force leads Department of Defense (DoD) activities to program, integrate, and synchronize biometric technologies and capabilities and to operate and maintain DoD's authoritative biometric database. The Task Force supports warfighters as they face new challenges and threats in the asymmetric war being waged against global terrorism. Biometric capabilities offer the single most effective tool for identifying and tracking enemies, leveraging the full range of multimodal biometrics - finger and palm prints, iris patterns, facial geometry, voice patterns, and even DNA - to uncover suspects, accessing forensic evidence linking suspects to past attacks and helping to track and find them before they strike. The new award will provide CACI with the opportunity to offer the following services to DoD customers: Management Support; Infrastructure Procurement Design, Development, and Integration; Operations and Maintenance; Advanced Technology Demonstration; Studies and Analysis; and Test and Evaluation.

Beginning in 2001, CACI has supported the DoD's biometrics mission with program management, acquisition life cycle, and biometrics intelligence analysis services. This contract offers strategic value to the company as it is aligned with CACI's ISIS functional core competency across multiple customers in support of the warfighter, national defense, and homeland security. From equipping military operations with smaller, faster, lighter biometrics collection and screening technologies for fingerprint/iris/face recognition, to improving biometric data sharing among agencies, CACI is committed to meeting the critical challenges to provide enduring biometrics capabilities across DoD.

According to Bill Fairl, CACI President of U.S. Operations, "CACI is very pleased with this new award to support the Army's Biometrics Task Force. It represents recognition of our company's quality service in this mission space, and provides a tremendous opportunity to expand our footprint in delivering biometrics-based identity management solutions."

Paul Cofoni, CACI President and Chief Executive Officer, said, "This new work under the Biometrics Operations and Support Services - Unrestricted contract vehicle is vitally important, because it involves protecting the warfighter in-theater and in supporting our nation's top priorities. It enables CACI to address a broad spectrum of functional areas through various task orders, including technology that is useful in the homeland security arena."
