Biocon has reported on plans for development of its manufacturing and research and development (R&D) facilities in Malaysia's Bio-XCell Park. The first stage of a project to establish a manufacturing and R&D site in Johor province is close to completion, with total investment amounting to USD 180 million. The next stage of the project is construction of an insulin manufacturing plant, for a further USD 100-million investment, which is expected to be completed by fiscal year 2015.
