As it celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2018 Barratt is opening a new division in the East region.

Barratt's new Cambridgeshire division presents a great opportunity for growth in the area following strong land acquisitions and will be dual branded, selling both Barratt and David Wilson homes.

The new division (BDW Cambridgeshire) will help Barratt to continue to increase volumes to meet the high demand for new homes in the region. BDW Cambridgeshire already has terms agreed on land for more than 1,000 units and will be creating around 50 new jobs over the next three years, with hundreds more supported in the supply chain and through local sub-contractors.

The division, which will be based in Peterborough and open this year, is focused on strong markets in areas highlighted recently by the National Infrastructure Commission's Report, Partnering for Prosperity. The report identified opportunities to create 'well designed, well connected new communities' for the Cambridge - Milton Keynes - Oxford arc.

Meanwhile in London, Barratt is combining its Aldgate and Stratford teams into a new bigger Barratt East London division. It has agreed terms to move into new, easily accessible offices on the Olympic Park, and the move will help Barratt London grow volumes across the capital. Barratt's Brentford division will be rebranded as Barratt West London.

The move will allow Barratt London to work more closely together, benefitting from the skills and expertise across their London teams, and enabling them to deliver focused and efficient growth.

David Thomas, Chief Executive of Barratt Developments PLC, said: 'Barratt is committed to growing volumes and building the high quality homes that the country needs.

'The strong market we are seeing across the country, good consumer demand combining with an improving planning environment and supportive government policy, gives us the confidence to continue to expand our business.

'Our new Cambridgeshire division and combined East London division will help us to deliver the growth we are targeting over the coming years.'
