Azumah appoints two new directors with extensive mining and project finance backgrounds

• • Mr Geoff Jones steps down due to executive and other business commitments

• • Banking and project financier, Ms Debra Bakker, and mining consultant and private equity adviser, Mr Linton Putland, appointed

• • New appointments consistent with progress towards development and financing decision in 2019 for Wa Gold Project, Ghana

West African gold explorer and developer Azumah Resources (ASX: AZM) ("Azumah" or "the Company") advises that Geoff Jones has informed the Company that due to executive and other business commitments he is stepping down from the Azumah Board.

Azumah Non-Executive Chairman Michael Atkins said: "Managing Director Stephen Stone and myself wish to pay a very special tribute to Geoff Jones for his considerable and constructive contribution to the Company this past nine years, and especially his invaluable guidance on African project development".

Ms Debra Bakker

Ms Bakker has more than 25 years' experience as an international banker, deal maker and advisor to the resources industry, holding various senior positions with Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Standard Bank London Group and Barclays Capital in Sydney, London, New York, Chicago and, since 2003, Perth. She also is the Western Australian representative of Auramet Trading LLC, a New York-based metals trading firm and merchant banking advisory service.

Debra is currently a Non-Executive Director of Independence Group (ASX: IGO) and Capricorn Metals Ltd (ASX: CAP) and holds several not-for-profit sector roles.

Debra holds a B.Bus Finance and Accounting from Edith Cowan University, Perth, is a graduate of the Securities Institute of Australia (now called FINSIA), holds a M.App Finance in Applied Finance from Macquarie University and is a Graduate of the AICD Company Directors course.

Mr Linton Putland

Mr Putland is a mining professional with more than 30 years' experience in technical, operational and managerial roles centred on open pit and underground operations covering a wide range of commodities in Australia and overseas, including several campaigns in Africa.

As a consultant, he now provides advice on due diligence, business development, project planning and implementation, operational improvement and mentoring, various levels of project assessment studies, and tenders and contracts for a range of mining and mining-associated companies.

Linton is also an independent Non-Executive Director with Pacific Energy Limited (ASX: PEA) and was, for five years until 2017, the Principal Technical Adviser to private equity group, Pacific Road Capital Management.

He is a 1988 B.Eng graduate of the Western Australia School of Mines from where he also gained an MSc. Mineral Economics and is a Graduate of the AICD Company Directors course. Linton also holds a Western Australia First Class Mine Managers Certificate (1991).
