Yahoo Japan Corporation (TSE:4689) signed an agreement to acquire 33.4% of Astmax Asset Management, Inc. from ASTMAX Co., Ltd. (JASDAQ:7162) for ¥1.7 billion on August 8, 2016. Yahoo Japan will acquire 23,757 shares. The transaction is expected to complete on October 3, 2016.

Astmax Co Ltd is a holding company. The Company operates in four business segments through its subsidiaries. The Asset Management segment is performing fund of funds business that invests in hedge funds, private equity funds, and venture capital fund management business that invests in venture companies. It also focuses on the funded long-term asset formation business for individual investors. In the Dealing segment, the domestic commodity futures market is centered on the overseas futures market, and the operation business is carried out on its own account using the over-the-counter market (OTC market) that does not go through an exchange. The Renewable Energy Related segment is engaged in the power generation and electricity supply using renewable energy. The Power Trading Related segment is engaged in the provision of business agency services and systems for business related to retail electric power companies. The other business aims at agricultural practice.
