Asseco Poland S.A. has announced that it is going to carry out the third project within its cooperation with the European Space Agency. After the project completion, the Agency will be able to access its spaceship simulators remotely, through a web browser. The project will be executed within the framework of the incentive scheme for the Polish industry and scientific institutions which is intended to support the acquisition and development of competence in the field of space technology.

ESA has already launched two tenders within that program. Asseco managed to win contracts in both the tenders. Asseco Poland will perform the migration of spaceship simulators used by ESA into a new platform based on RAP technology.

This solution will make it possible to access the simulators using a web browser. The project will also examine the capabilities and performance of the platform and it will identify potential problems associated with remote access to the system. In addition, the company will analyze the possibilities for 3D visualization of simulation models and some of such solutions will be implemented in the system.

The project is expected to be completed in December 2015. Access to the spaceship simulators will enable checking the operation of satellites before they are sent into the orbit, making it possible to avoid potential errors which might result in the loss of such equipment. Moreover, having the ability to use the simulators via a web browser, in the future the Agency will be able to offer access to its simulations as a service provided in the cloud.
