Paramjit Kahlon, Vice President of ArcelorMittal and member of the Group Management Committee, is appointed Chief Executive Officer of ArcelorMittal CIS

Kryvyi Rih, April 15, 2016.Paramjit Kahlon, Vice President of ArcelorMittal and member of the Group Management Committee, is appointed Chief Executive Officer of ArcelorMittal CIS (PJSC "ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih", Ukraine and JSC "ArcelorMittal Temirtau", Kazakhstan), effective 1st May 2016. As before, he reports to Davinder Chugh, Senior Executive Vice President of ArcelorMittal and Chief Executive Officer of Africa and CIS (ACIS) region.

Role of CEO of ArcelorMittal CIS is challenging, main priority for Paramjit Kahlon would be effective execution of Action 2020 program in CIS, reinforcing both the plants as a regional leaders and competitive businesses".

In 2015 Paramjit Kahlon was appointed to ArcelorMittal Group Management Committee. The Group Management Committee provides support to the CEO Office and Executive Officers of ArcelorMittal. Management Committee is a governing body of the company which meets on a regular basis to discuss and adopt decisions on key issues. At present the Group Management Committee comprises 27 executives from business units and corporate functions of ArcelorMittal.

Paramjit Kahlon has over 20 years' experience in the steel industry. Before his appointment as CEO of PJSC "ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih" in 2015, he has worked as chief operating officer (COO) at the plant. Before working as COO, he was deputy CEO (operations) of PJSC "ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih". Before being appointed to this position he was chief technology officer and general manager for the projects and strategy of the plant (2008-2010).

Paramjit Kahlon started his career at SMS Siemag (formerly known as Mannesmann Demag) in 1995 as project manager at one of the largest steel technology innovators and equipment suppliers worldwide. At the end of 2001 he moved to Danieli & C, Buttrio, Italy, where he was responsible for managing the installation and start-up of turnkey steel projects worldwide. He has installed and started-up many strategic steel projects for major steel producers in India, China, Taiwan, United Kingdom, France, Italy and Russia, over the course of a decade.

He is a mechanical engineer, a graduate of Haryana State Institute of Engineering in India and holds an Executive Degree in Metallurgy along with a Postgraduate Certificate in Computer Engineering.
