AREVA : 2013 revenue rises 3.8 percent, backlog falls

PARIS (Reuters) - Areva, the world's biggest maker of nuclear reactors, said on Thursday that 2013 revenue rose 3.8 percent to 9.3 billion euros (7.6 billion pounds), lifted by what it said were exceptionally high uranium sales.

Growth in nuclear revenue reached 7.1 percent year-on-year, outperforming the group's target, Chief Executive Luc Oursel said in a statement.

The French company's order book was 6.9 percent lower at 41.6 billion euros at the end of 2013, compared with 44.7 billion a year earlier.
