PENNSYLVANIA AMERICAN WATER HONORS COATESVILLE EMPLOYEE WITH EXTRA MILE AWARD HERSHEY, Pa. (January 12, 2012) - Pennsylvania American Water announced today that Coatesville area employee Richard "Larry" Garver has been recognized with the company's "Extra Mile Award," which is a monthly recognition program that rewards outstanding employees who demonstrate a high level of customer service.

"Larry was chosen as our December 2011 winner from a pool of very impressive nominees," said Pennsylvania American Water President Kathy L. Pape. "Our Extra Mile program provides an opportunity to spotlight those employees, like Larry, who are leaders in exemplifying Pennsylvania American Water's dedication to providing high-quality customer service everyday."
Garver was nominated by Production Supervisor Paul Hoffman for creating an innovative way to remove accumulated rainwater from a cover on a storage reservoir. He is a maintenance relief operator for the company's Coatesville water system. A resident of Kirkwood, Garver has been with Pennsylvania American Water since 1985.
The Extra Mile award encourages Pennsylvania American Water's more than 1,000 employees across the commonwealth to nominate coworkers who deserve recognition for their customer focus and for serving as role models for their peers.
