Aker Solutions ASA on Tuesday confirmed the award of a previously flagged deal with Chevron Australia Pty. Ltd. that will see it provide subsea-gas-compression technology at the Jansz-Io Compression Project offshore Western Australia.

As previously announced, the deal is worth about 7 billion Norwegian kroner ($815.1 million) and has been booked as order intake in the second quarter of 2021.

The Jansz-Io field is a part of the Chevron-operated Gorgon Project, a natural gas development. The Gorgon Project is a joint venture between the Australian subsidiaries of Chevron Corp., ExxonMobil Corp., Royal Dutch Shell PLC, Osaka Gas Co., Tokyo Gas Co. and Jera.
