Kelley Blue Book Senior Analyst Karl Brauer says currency shifts are helping foreign auto makers.

JOURNALIST ASKING KARL BRAUER: 'How much is Ford facing in terms of currency headwinds? We are talking a lot about the strong dollar and how that is affecting so many companies these days. What is your sense of that?'
BRAUER: 'Yeah, I mean once again it's like déjà vu all over again, we are seeing this situation where a lot of the foreign currencies are dropping which gives the foreign automakers a real advantage. And I think we saw a real streamlining and leaning out of the U.S. auto industry during the recession so that they can deal with those situations more effectively. But at the end of the day you can't deny what these currency shifts do in terms of helping out foreign auto makers.'
