At this joyful moment when the nation celebrates andfamilies reunite, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) wouldlike to extend the New Year greetings to more than 2,700 of our members, andexpress our sincere thanks to the leaders and colleagues at all levels who havelong been concerned about and supported the development of China auto industry!At the mean time, CAAM, as the new president of the International Organizationof Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (OICA), would like to take this opportunity toextend our sincere New Year greetings and best wishes to our colleagues in theglobal auto industry!

The past year has been a year of great pressure andchallenges as well as a year of hard work for the auto industry. In 2019, the Chinaauto industry withstood the severe test of the unprecedented market downturnand achieved the sales volume of 25.77 million, keeping up the world's first,and showing remarkable resilience, worthy of a thumbs up!

As the mountains highs ups and lows, the moon dims orshines and waxes or wanes, the fluctuations of the auto market are no different.It is not only the consensus of the auto industry, but also the choice ofChinese automobiles, to face up to these challenges, practice determination andhone in great internal skills.

Over the past year, we were pleased to seethe significant improvement in the quality of the Chinese automobiles, thecontinuous optimization of the industrial structure, the accelerated adjustmentof backward enterprises and the speeding up of the 'going out'pace of preponderant companies. Theseaccumulations were even more valuable to China auto industry. We were delightedto see that the manufacturers overcame difficulties, actively responded and showeda strong ability of self adjustment when facing challenges and pressures, whichwas not only the manifestation of the maturity of the China auto industry, butalso the embodiment of the successful practice of supply-side reform.

In the new year, we will embracea new dream, march forward on a new journey, and usher a new era. Under the megatrendsof electrification, intelligentization, connectivity and sharing, the China autoindustry will deepen cross-border integraton and accelerate industrialtransformation and upgrading to high-quality development. The year 2020 will bea critical year for the development of China auto industry. It will also be ayear full of challenges and opportunities.

In the new year, for the carguys with original intention in heart, we will be full of courage andconfidence to forge ahead; for the car guys with dream in mind, we willcontinuously develop our strong character and competitive capabilities inglobal competition; for the car guys with industrial responsibility and missionon shoulder, we will contribute to the realization of a great modern socialistcountry, with the mission of building an auto power, and a clean and beautifulworld.

In the new year, CAAM will, underthe direct leadership of the new Council, Standing Council and the strongsupport of our members, open up a new situation in the work of the association.Standing at a new historical starting point, we will keep going and makepositive innovations to continuously build a 'China's first-class, world-renowned'industrial association; and play the role of a bridge and bond to lead thehealthy development of the industry and help Chinese automobiles achieveglobalization, firmly guided by the auto power strategy.

Dearfriends, let's seize the day and never lose the time, and be filled withboundless pride. Let's march forward together on a new journey and greetthe arrival of a bright tomorrow of the auto industry!
