A report from Chicago Real Estate Daily, a publication in Crain's Chicago Business states that Buffalo Grove homes sold quicker than any others in Chicago suburbs and the city.

Buffalo Grove, Illinois - Throughout 2015, homes located in the Village of Buffalo Grove sold faster than other residential properties in any other Chicago suburb, as well as in the city of Chicago.

Crain's Chicago Business' Real Estate Daily publication reported that 61 days was the average amount of time that 791 Buffalo Grove residential properties spend on the market before they sold. The properties included single-family homes, townhouses and condominiums.

Comparably, residential properties in northern Cook County took an average of 85 days, and Lake County properties took an average 99 days to sell. Portions of Buffalo Grove are located in both Cook County and Lake County.

In the city of Chicago, the average time for a residential property to stay on the real estate market in 2015 was 92 days.

'The Village of Buffalo Grove has received a number of recognitions over the last few years, including being named one of the 50 best places to live across the U.S., and as one of the best places to raise a family,' said Village Manager Dane Bragg. 'We credit our excellent schools, park district, Village services and our strong business community for making Buffalo Grove a highly desirable place to live.'

Midwest Real Estate Data reports the amount of time properties spend on the real estate market in Cook, DuPage, Lake and Will counties. The reports cover individual suburbs, in addition to neighborhoods in Chicago.

Area suburbs that also had shorter market time averages for residential properties in 2015 included Mt. Prospect at 70 days, and 73 days for properties located in Hanover Park.
