Salt Lake Comic Con’s FanXperience (FanX) (http://saltlakecomiccon.com) announced today that they’re rolling out the blood-red carpet for Paul Wesley and Phoebe Tonkin from The Vampire Diaries, who will be celebrity guests at FanX.

Wesley is best known for his role as Stefan Salvatore, Silas and Tom Avery in the Vampire Diaries. He’s also appeared in a number of other fan favorites, including Fallen, Smallville and 24. Wesley will be at FanX on January 31st only.

Tonkin is popular for her role as Hayley Marshall in The Vampire Diaries and the Originals, Celo Sertori in H20: Just Add Water and roles in The Secret Circle, Tomorrow and When the War Began. She’s currently filming a new movie called Take Down. Tonkin will appear at FanX on Saturday, January 31st only.

The Vampire Diaries is a hugely popular TV show and one that our fans have always asked us to bring celebrities in from,” said Dan Farr, Salt Lake Comic Con founder and show producer. “Paul and Phoebe are a big win for our fans, and I know our fans will love meeting them and will have fun trying to pick their brains for hints about the upcoming season of The Vampire Diaries.”

Over the last week there has been a flurry of celebrity announcements and activity. Last week Salt Lake Comic Con announced that Matt Smith and Karen Gillan from Doctor Who will be at FanX, as well as Steven Yeun from The Walking Dead. There will be at least one more The Walking Dead guest announced this week.

Additionally, other recent celebrity announcements include Mark Pellegrino (Dexter, Lost and Supernatural), Glenn Morshower (24 and Transformers), Jim Cummings (Voice actor for Winnie the Pooh, Tigger and Darkwing Duck), Jess Harnell (Animaniacs and Transformers), and Rob Paulsen (Animaniacs, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Pinky and the Brain).

“We’re excited to have Paul and Phoebe join us at FanX,” said Bryan Brandenburg, Salt Lake Comic Con co-founder and Chief Marketing Officer. “Our market research shows that our fans from this region are unusually enthusiastic about vampires and werewolves, in fact more so than almost every state in the country. We know our fans love The Vampire Diaries, so it’s a big win for Salt Lake City to bring one of the main characters from such a popular show.”

Tickets to FanX 2015 are still available, but are expected to sell out before the event starts on January 29, 2015. Matt Smith pre-sale photo ops, general admission and deluxe tickets for the Doctor Who Ultimate Xperience are already sold out.
