Turner Construction Company is pleased to share that for the sixth year in a row, the company has been designated a Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality in the United States through the Human Rights Campaign Foundation's Corporate Equality Index, which is a primary driving force for LGBTQ workplace inclusion.

This recognition reflects Turner's work to sustain the right environment and its efforts in creating a more inclusive workplace for all people. Turner has achieved a top score of 100 consecutively for its positive LGBTQ+-related policies and practices including non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs, and public engagement with the LGBTQ+ community.

'Through actively caring for one another and creating the right environment, we are pursuing a vision where employees can bring their whole selves to work and be treated with respect and equity,' said Josh Bradley, Turner Cost Engineer and board member of Turner's Pride Network. 'Turner's LGBTQ-affirming policies and corporate culture helped me find a home in an industry that is not known for its inclusivity; for that I will always be grateful.'

Employers that have earned top ratings such as this one took concrete steps within their company to ensure greater equity for LGBTQ+ employees in a variety of forms. Turner's Pride Network Employee Resource Group works hard to continue to receive this ranking every year. Within the Human Rights Campaign's best places to work, Turner fits into the Engineering and Construction category. Turner was the first in this category to get a 100%.

'I have always felt welcome to be my authentic self at Turner,' shared Turner Marketing Manager, Stephen Potter. 'But as someone who is mid-career, I remember the industry in earlier days when being openly LGBT on the jobsite was all-too-frequently met with derision.' Potter continued, 'It's so thrilling to see how far construction has progressed, and truly moving to work for a company that is blazing the trail.'

The Corporate Equality Index criteria reflects leading policies, benefits and practices for the LGBTQ+ workforce and their families in the United States. The full report is available online at www.hrc.org/cei.
