School choice supporters will kick off National School Choice Week in Alaska with a breakfast at the Anchorage Sheraton on Monday, January 25, 2016. The breakfast, which is hosted by the Alaska Policy Forum, will focus on the benefits of proposed Education Savings Accounts (ESA) - also known as K-12 Education Debit Cards for Kids - while also providing an overview of existing school choice options in the Last Frontier State.

National School Choice Week is the largest series of education-related events in US history and will feature 37 events in Alaska. The goal of National School Choice Week is to shine a positive spotlight on effective education options for children, including traditional public schools, public charter schools, magnet schools, online academies, private schools, and homeschooling.
