Students and parents will attend Minnesota School Choice Day featuring a rally in the State Capitol Rotunda and attendance at multiple committee hearings throughout the day.

At 9 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 24 at the State Capitol, students and parents will attend a Minnesota House Committee hearing on the Equity and Opportunity Scholarship Act. At 11 a.m., a rally in the Capitol Rotunda with former Arizona Superintendent of Public Instruction Lisa Graham Keegan and entrepreneur Reynolds-Anthony Harris will be held. Families also plan to attend hearings held by the House Education Finance Committee at 1 p.m. and the Joint Senate Education Policy and Finance Committee at 3 p.m.

Opportunity for All Kids is the lead planner of this event, which is planned to coincide with the history-making celebration of National School Choice Week 2017, which will feature more than 21,000 school choice events across all 50 states.

"We are working to empower parents to make the best choice for their children," said entrepreneur Reynolds-Anthony Harris, a leader of the Minnesota Harvest Initiative. "Students in Minnesota have a wide range of needs. We need to make sure that every child can access a high quality education."
