Domestic and foreign tourists generated more arrivals and overnight stays than in November 2015
In November 2016, almost 219,000 tourist arrivals and almost 534,000 overnight stays were registered in tourist accommodations, which is 11% more tourist arrivals and 13% more overnight stays than in November 2015. In the same comparison the number of domestic tourist arrivals increased by 5% and the number of their overnight stays by 11%. The number of foreign tourist arrivals and their overnight stays also increased by 15% and 14%, respectively.

More overnight stays of tourists from all key markets; the highest growth of tourists from the Russian Federation
In November 2016 domestic tourists generated 34% and foreign tourists 66% of tourist overnight stays in Slovenia. Key markets, from which the most overnight stays of foreign tourists in Slovenia were registered, were Austria (21%), Italy (18%), Germany (8%), Croatia (7%), Serbia (6%) and the Russian Federation (5%).

In November 2016 tourists from all key markets generated more overnight stays than in November 2015: tourists from the Russian Federation 42% more, from Serbia 25% more, from Croatia 12% more, from Austria and Germany 11% more and from Italy 3% more.

In hotels 76% of overnight stays, hotel bedplaces 50% occupied
Almost 32,000 units (rooms, apartments, houses, cottages, bungalows, places for camping, moorings for boats) with almost 84,000 bedplaces were available to tourists in Slovenia in November 2016; 46% of all tourist bedplaces (permanent and auxiliary) were available to tourists in hotels, 12% in camping sites and 8% in private accommodations - rented rooms and dwellings. Permanent bedplaces in hotels were on average occupied 41% and hotel rooms 47% (net occupancy).

In apartment settlements 29% more and in hotels 13% more tourist overnight stays
In November 2016, more than 406,000 or 76% of tourist overnight stays were recorded in hotels, 6% in apartment settlements and 5% in camping sites.

Compared to November 2015, in apartment settlements the number of tourist overnight stays increased by 29%, in hotels by 13% and in camping sites by 7%.

In health (spa) resorts 44% of all overnight stays were registered; in municipality Ljubljana 28% more overnight stays
In November 2016, the highest number of tourist overnight stays (44% or almost 233,000) was recorded in health (spa) resorts, followed by seaside resorts (16% or more than 86,000), municipality Ljubljana (14% or more than 72,000) and mountain resorts (11% or almost 58,000).

Compared to November 2015, the number of tourist overnight stays increased in all types of tourist resorts: in municipality Ljubljana by 28%, in mountain resorts by 17%, in health (spa) resorts by 12% and in seaside resorts by 10%.

Most of the tourist overnight stays (14%) were recorded in municipality Ljubljana, followed by Piran (11%), Moravske Toplice (8%), Brežice (7%), Podčetrtek and Bled (5% each).

In the first eleven months 10% more tourist arrivals and 8% more tourist overnight stays than in the same period a year ago
In the first eleven months of 2016 more than 3.9 million tourist arrivals were registered in tourist accommodations or 10% more than in the same period of the previous year (domestic 5%, foreign 12% more). In the same comparison the number of tourist overnight stays (almost 10.2 million) increased by 8% (domestic by 3%, foreign by 10%).
