Factor income in agriculture lower than in 2015

Compared to 2015, in 2016 a 12% decrease in the real factor income in agriculture - which equals the net value added less other taxes on production plus other subsidies on production - is expected. Lower factor income is expected to be influenced by lower production value and by the assumption that the subsidies value will stay at the previous year level. The factor income per annual work unit is expected to decrease by 11% due to a slight decrease in employment.

In 2016 lower volume and lower prices of agricultural products

According to the second estimate, the value of the agricultural output in 2015 is expected to amount to EUR 1,187 million, which is a decrease by 7% over the previous year. The volume is expected to decrease by 3% and the prices by 5%.

Lower crop value due to lower fruit and grapes value; the influence of the lower values of the majority of other crop areas

Crop output value is expected to decrease by 12% to EUR 642 million due to the 8% volume decrease, while the prices are expected to decrease by 4% compared with the previous year.

The main reason for the crop output value decrease is the lower fruit and grapes output, compared with the good 2015 harvest. The value of fruit is expected to decrease the most, by a third, due to the volume decrease and despite the price increase. The value of wine is expected to decrease by a fifth mainly due to the volume decrease by a fifth. The cereals and the forage plant output is expected to decrease due to the volume decrease. The output increase is expected for vegetables, potato and industrial crops. Vegetable ond industrial crops output is expected to increase due to the volume increase while the potato output value is expected to increase due to the price increase.

The animal output value at the previous year's level due to the price decrease

The value of animal output is expected to be EUR 525 million. According to the estimate, the animal output is expected to remain at the 2015 level due to a substantial, 6%, price decrease despite the volume increase by 5%.

The animal output value is expected to increase despite the price decrease by 3% due to the volume increase. The cattle output value is expected to remain close to the previous year's level due to the price decrease by 4%. The pigs output is expected to remain at the previous year level due to the price decrease by 3%. The value of poultry is expected to increase despite the price decrease due to the volume increase. The output value of sheep and goats is expected to increase due to the volume increase. The animal products output is expected to decrease by 7%, despite the volume increase by 3%, due to the price decrease by 10%. The main influence on the lower value of animal products is expected to come from milk, with a volume increase by 4% and a substantial price decrease by 13%.

Lower costs due to lower prices of intermediate consumption items

The value of intermediate consumption is expected to decrease by 3% and amount to EUR 724 million. The main reason is the expected 6% price decrease; the volume of the intermediate consumption is expected to increase by 2%. Lower costs are expected almost for all kinds of intermediate consumption items; the costs of the fertilisers and are expected to decrease by 12% and the costs of the energy by 11%.

Slight employment decrease

Compared with the precious year it is expected that employment in 2016 will decrease by 2% due to the unpaid employment.
