Legislators from across the state are joining policy makers, charter school leaders, and school choice supporters to celebrate the education choices offered to families in Georgia on Wednesday, January 27.

The Georgia Public Policy Foundation’s Annual National School Choice Week Leadership Breakfast will be held January 27 at 8:00 am at Cobb County’s Georgian Club in Atlanta. Hosted by the Georgia Public Policy Foundation, a panel discussion entitled “Georgia Education: Reforms and Recommendations,” will look at the progress and future of school choice across Georgia.

“The Georgia Public Policy Foundation is thrilled to highlight National School Choice Week with leaders from across our state. We’re committed to ensuring that all parents have the right to select a school that best meets their child’s academic needs,” said Benita Dodd, vice president of Georgia Public Policy Foundation.

The panel discussion includes two education reform champions in the Georgia Legislature and an education innovator: Georgia State Sen. Hunter Hill, Senate sponsor of legislation creating Education Savings Accounts (ESAs) and Georgia State Rep. Mike Dudgeon, vice chairman of the House Education Committee, a sponsor of similar legislation in the Senate and a member of the Governor’s Education Reform Commission. Additionally, Mike Davis, executive director of Great Teachers’ Academy, a hybrid school with a network of micro-campuses, will address the audience.

Organizers expect to draw over 75 legislators, business people, opinion leaders, and school choice supporters.

The event is open to the public, but tickets are required for attendance. The registration deadline is Monday, January 25. For more information, contact Benita Dodd, at benitadodd@georgiapolicy.org
