The team in Newquay have swapped their ophthalmoscopes for coffee mugs and cakes to support Macmillan Cancer Research.

Hundreds raised

On Saturday 1 October staff sold sweet treats to customers and passers-by in aid of Macmillan Cancer Research's coffee morning, raising an impressive £242.39 in the process.

The proceeds from all activities will be donated to support the lives of the two million people living with cancer in the UK today.

A word from the director

Graham Dunn, store director, said: 'Macmillan Cancer Research is a charity that is important to us all as most people have been affected in one way or another by the disease. It was great to see the community come together for the occasion and a cause that we know will have helped at least one of our customers at some point.'

Macmillan Cancer Research is a national charity committed to improving the quality of life for all people affected by cancer.
