Fermanagh South Tyrone MLA Colm Gildernew has urged anyone with information regarding a recent burglary in Aughnacloy, County Tyrone to bring it to the PSNI..
An 83-year-old woman is in a critical condition in hospital after being seriously injured during the burglary.
Colm Gildernew said:
'There is no place for attacks like this in our society. It is extremely concerning as there were similar burglaries in the area last night.
'It was a disgusting incident and the community in Aughnacloy are genuinely shocked about what has happened.
'Eldery people should feel safe and secure in their homes and I would remind everyone of the need to be extra vigilant at this time.
'I would urge anyone with even a scrap of information relating to this crime to bring it to the PSNI so they have as much information as possible to assist with their investigation.'
