SEIA - Solar Energy Industries Association : SEIA Applauds Efforts to Eliminate Tariffs on Environmental Goods

WASHINGTON, DC - Rhone Resch, president and CEO of the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA), released the following statement today in support of efforts by U.S. Trade Representative Michael Froman to eliminate tariffs on environmental goods:

"We applaud the Administration on its continued leadership in support of reducing and, eventually, eliminating tariffs on environmental goods.  In 2011, the United States led Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) members to commit to tariff cuts for a variety of environmental goods, including several solar products.  The decision by Australia, Canada, China, Costa Rica, the European Union, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Norway, Singapore, Switzerland, Chinese Taipei and the United States to launch global talks on tariff cuts for environmental goods is great news for U.S. solar exporters."
