Rochdale Borough Council have helped clear the River Roch, the Memorial Garden fountain and Packer Spout fountain.

A team spent a day clearing over 30 bags of litter and rubbish from the grass and bushes at the side of the river, the river itself and the two fountains. Work started in mid-November 2017 and will be ongoing every 2 weeks to ensure the spaces are kept in the best condition possible for all to enjoy.

Councillor Neil Emmott, the council's cabinet member for housing and environment, said: 'We're delighted with the difference these regular clean ups have made to the river and the look and feel of the town in general. This again reflects our commitment to creating a cleaner, greener borough for our residents to enjoy.'
